although there are many different types of lasers, the kscan utilizes sequential line scanning or laser diffraction spectrometry (lds) . this technology increases the accuracy and resolution compared to other types of scanning technologies. given that image processing systems and laser scanners combine form factor and accuracy, i found a handheld laser scanner that provides this combination.
